IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ORESTE METHOD FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AT THE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS (ITBis) LEMBAH DEMPO

Abstract

Humans have an important right, namely to obtain a proper education as stated in the 1945 Constitution. With education, it will be open for someone to get a better life. Education is important, the state supports every citizen to achieve the highest education. Likewise the Lembah Dempo Institute of Technology & Business (ITbis), already has a scholarship program for students built on the Academic Information System. However, in making the selection of the scholarship, it will certainly experience difficulties because of the many criteria and the possibility of similarity in the value of the student criteria used to determine the decision of the recipient of the scholarship as expected without taking into account the subjective assessment of the student. For this reason, a Decision Support System (DSS) is needed that can take into account all the criteria that support decision-making to assist, speed up and simplify the decision-making process. The method used in making scholarship selection decisions is the Oreste method where the Oreste method can be implemented to determine scholarship recipients based on predetermined weights and criteria. This method is the development of several other methods that are collected in the Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method. In this method, there is a unit thing, namely by adopting the Besson Rank.
