EXPERT SYSTEM TO DETECT THE DAMAGE OF COOLING SYSTEM TO TOYOTA CAR USING BACKWARD CHAINING METHOD

Abstract

Damage that usually occurs suddenly and cannot be directly detected by car owners who are still unfamiliar with car damage, especially Toyota cars, because the lack of knowledge about car engines makes car users become confused and panicked and cannot handle their car for a while before the car starts. damaged ones are taken to the nearest repair shop. Therefore we need an application, namely an expert system which is a knowledge-based computer program from an expert who can help reduce the risk of car damage by knowing where the damage is known and then looking for the cause. So that through the application, this expert system can simplify, assist and find out the causes of the damage that occurs in the Toyota car cooling system by using the Backward Chaining algorithm where the solution to the damage has been analyzed by experts using the inference method that works backwards towards the initial conditions. The process begins with the Goal, then a search is started to match whether the facts match the premises in the IF section. If it matches, the rule is executed, then the hypothesis in THEN section is placed in the database as a new fact. If they don't match, save the premise in the IF section to the stack as a sub Goal. The process ends if the Goal is found or there is no rule that can prove the truth of the sub Goal or Goal.
